Florida: Woman Arrested for Stealing Rolex on Date

A Florida resident, Alexia Joselyn Flores, was arrested after allegedly stealing two wristwatches, including a Rolex worth $ 37,000, during a first date arranged through Tinder. She has been charged with grand theft of more than $ 20,000 but less than $ 100,000.
The incident occurred on the night of September 20, when the victim contacted the police around 2:30 a.m. and reported that a woman had stolen two watches from him. The man stated that he met Flores after they matched on the app and invited her to dinner. After a few drinks, he returned her to his apartment, where, according to him, they kissed goodbye at the end of the date, and then she left in an Uber that he paid for.
Upon returning to his apartment, the victim discovered that the watches were missing from his nightstand. He attempted to contact Flores but found that she had blocked his number. The next day, he went to the police station, where he was able to identify Flores from a photo lineup of six options. He also provided the police with a receipt confirming the purchase of the Rolex for $ 37,000.
Flores was arrested on September 24. During questioning, she confirmed that she met the victim through Tinder and that they returned to his apartment, but she denied the theft. She stated that she did not remember what happened at the end of the date and suggested that she might have been under the influence of drugs, although she had not mentioned this before. She is currently in custody at the Miami-Dade County jail with a bond set at $ 7,500 and has pleaded not guilty. It is unclear whether she has an attorney and when her next court appearance will be.
