Dolly Parton’s younger sister, Freida Parton, commented on rumors of family feuds following the legendary singer’s death. In her Instagram post on September 23, she stated, «I will say this: there is no feud in our family. No one in the Parton/Owens family is fighting over Dolly’s estate».
This statement followed the dismissal of Dolly’s nephew, Brian Seever, from his position as head of security for her estate last week. The decision to terminate him was made by Dolly’s will executors. Freida assured that «we all love Brian, just as we love each other», - and ended her post with, «I love you all!»
A representative from Seever’s security company, SAPS, expressed dissatisfaction with the unexpected actions taken by the will executors. It was reported that on September 16, Seever and his team were notified that their services were no longer needed at Dolly’s home, museum, and warehouse in Nashville, and they were immediately replaced by new security.
According to court documents obtained by Us, disagreements arose between Seever and her will executors in the days leading up to Dolly’s death. The organization She’s Alive, LLC, appointed by Dolly to manage her business interests after her death, filed a motion to restrain Seever.
Dolly’s manager, Danny Nozell, and other executors claimed in court that Seever threatened to use his military contractor experience to blackmail Dolly’s estate. In messages he allegedly sent, Seever described himself as «literally an international arms dealer and mercenary».
In response to the allegations, Seever stated that he never threatened Nozell or anyone from She’s Alive, adding that his comments were part of «conversations between two friends who were grieving». He also clarified that his words about «retribution» referred to specific business partners who harmed Dolly.
