Country music star Garth Brooks is facing a lawsuit for sexual violence from a woman known only as «Jane Roe» in court documents. She claims to have started working as a makeup artist and hairstylist for Brooks in 2017, hired by his wife, Trisha Yearwood, in 1999 to provide hair styling and makeup services. «Once in Los Angeles at a hotel, Miss Roe could not believe that Brooks had booked a room with one bedroom, and she did not have a separate room», - the lawsuit stated, according to the publication.
Roe also accused Brooks of appearing in their hotel room «at the bedroom door, completely naked», - and making «repeated comments» to Roe about having a «threesome» with his wife.
Brooks had previously been an anonymous plaintiff in a previous lawsuit, according to CNN. He was referred to as «John Doe» in the lawsuit, which claimed that Roe’s allegations against him were «untrue».
«The defender knows well, however, about the serious, irreparable harm that such false accusations cause to the reputation and caring person, as well as the inevitable harm to his family and irreparable harm to his career and means of livelihood that will follow if she carries out her threat to 'publicly file' her fabricated lawsuit», - the previous lawsuit stated.
Now that Brooks has been identified as the celebrity in question, he denied the allegations of sexual violence in a statement obtained by CNN.
«For the last two months, I have been relentlessly pursued by threats, lies, and tragic stories of what will happen to my future if I do not write a check for many millions of dollars», - said the singer of «Too Young» in his statement. «It was like having a loaded gun pointed at me. Silence, no matter how much or little, is still silence. In my mind, that means I acknowledge behavior that I am incapable of — ugly acts that no one should do to another. We filed a lawsuit against this person almost a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides».
Yearwood has not publicly commented on the lawsuit against her husband. They were married in 2005 and have been together ever since.
