Jerry Turner and Teresa Nist are officially divorced. Two months after announcing their split on Good Morning America, the participants of the first season of «The Bachelor» finalized their divorce in Indiana on Thursday, June 13.
According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Jerry, 72, and Teresa, 70, «lived together as husband and wife until April 12, 2024, when some unresolved disagreements between them led to their separation».
In that month, the former couple announced their split on GMA, revealing that the reason was distance.
«Teresa and I have had some serious conversations, and we have looked closely at our situation, our place of residence, and so on, and we have come to the mutual conclusion that it is probably time for us to part ways», - explained Jerry, who is originally from Indiana. Teresa, on the other hand, lives in New Jersey.
Jerry added that he and Teresa are «dedicated» to their families, noting: «So we look at these conversations, and we both think that for each of us to be happy, it is better to live separately».
Later that week, Teresa expressed a positive attitude towards her split with Jerry on Instagram. In her caption, the ABC personality thanked her fans for their support and kindness and urged them to «remain open to all the possibilities and love that may come your way».
«To everyone who has shown me love, support, and kindness, I thank you from the bottom of my heart», - wrote Teresa next to a quote from Dr. Seuss: «Don't cry because it’s over; smile because it happened».
