Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared her hopes for a relationship with her late ex-fiancé Ken Urquhart a year before his death at the age of 34. In an interview with People magazine in March 2025, she noted that she hoped for open communication and the opportunity to become more vulnerable with each other.
The couple first met in 2017 after the release of the HBO documentary «Mommy Dead and Dearest», - which described the events that led Gypsy Rose to plead guilty to the murder of her mother, Clauddine «Dee Dee» Blanchard, in 2015. Urquhart wrote Gypsy Rose a supportive letter after watching the film, and soon a romantic relationship developed between them while she was serving her sentence in prison. They became engaged in 2018 but broke up the following year.
However, Gypsy Rose and Urquhart eventually reconciled after her split from her ex-husband Ryan Anderson in 2024. In December 2024, they welcomed a daughter named Aurora Reina. After the birth of their daughter, Gypsy Rose confirmed that they were attending couples counseling, explaining that it helps to get an unbiased opinion.
On October 1, 2025, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana confirmed that Urquhart was found dead in his home, and an investigation is ongoing. Gypsy Rose expressed doubts about whether his death was «intentional or not», - adding that he «had not been in a good mental state lately». She also noted that she cannot believe what happened and is experiencing strong emotions.
Ken’s sister, Autumn Urquhart, also shared her feelings in a live stream on TikTok, where she broke down in tears and recounted that his last words to her were, «I love you».
