Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash announced the death of his stepdaughter Lucy Blue-Night in a touching statement. She was 25 years old. The 58-year-old musician took to Instagram to share the statement on Sunday, July 21.
«Lucy-Blue Night (December 6, 1998). Beloved daughter of Megan Hodges and Mark Night, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Night and Slash, sister of Scarlett Night, stepdaughter of London and Cash Hudson peacefully passed away in Los Angeles, California, on July 19, 2024», - the statement read.
Slash’s statement continued to note that Lucy-Blue «was a talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, loving, kind soul».
«The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that speculation on social media be kept to a minimum, as they grieve and mourn this devastating loss», - the statement concluded.
The official cause of death has not been publicly disclosed. Earlier that day, Slash canceled several performances on his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival tour.
«Due to unforeseen circumstances, the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. tour unfortunately must cancel the performances listed below. Refunds will be available at point of purchase», - read a separate statement that Slash posted on his Instagram account. «The S.E.R.P.E.N.T. tour will resume in Toronto on July 28, 2024, at the Budweiser stage. We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused».
Slash is in a relationship with Night’s mother, Megan Hodges. They first started dating in 1989 but broke up before rekindling their relationship in 2015, according to multiple sources.
On the same day Night passed away, she posted a cryptic message on her unconfirmed Instagram account, according to multiple sources.
«Whether it was making you feel excluded, manipulating/controlling you, telling you to quit your day job while comfortably living off my parents' financial support, or drowning out real issues in toxic positivity — I apologize», - read the caption to Night’s photo. «Countless missed opportunities and connections due to disgustingly large ego, insecure heart, and fear of vulnerability. May my soul learn to grow from my poor job as Lucy-Blue. Peace»
