Gleb Savchenko expressed concern for the well-being of his children amid an ongoing custody battle with his ex-wife Elena Samodanova. According to court documents obtained by Us, Savchenko claims that his 15-year-old daughter Olivia informed him that she had been subjected to derogatory comments about her body, weight, and appearance.
Savchenko also stated that Olivia was allegedly given weight loss medications without proper medical supervision and without consulting her parents, which contradicts existing court orders. He added that his daughter had endured prolonged periods of silent treatment and that her bedroom door had been removed as a form of punishment. According to Savchenko, despite Olivia currently being upset due to her mother’s influence, he is confident that over time she will return to herself and want to spend time with him.
Savchenko is not seeking a change in the children’s primary residence but is requesting that any decisions regarding the children’s stay in Hong Kong include clear measures to protect their physical and emotional well-being. So far, Samodanova has not responded to Savchenko’s latest allegations.
The couple, who separated in December 2022 after 14 years of marriage, are fighting for custody of their daughters Olivia and Zlata, 8. Savchenko resides in Los Angeles, while Samodanova lives in Hong Kong. Olivia spent time with her father in the U.S. but returned to Hong Kong in September by court order.
Savchenko noted that his relationship with the children depends on extended periods during school vacations and reliable phone and video communication between them. He also mentioned that international trips cost about $ 2,550 per child per trip and expressed his willingness to cover reasonable airfare expenses but emphasized that he should not bear these costs alone.
Samodanova previously defended her parenting rights, claiming that she raises Olivia every day while Savchenko worked on the project «Dancing with the Stars». She stated that Olivia is thriving in Hong Kong, attending a prestigious school and taking ballroom dance classes. In August, she expressed her concerns about the legal battle, emphasizing that her priority is her daughter’s well-being and future.
