Gordon Ramsay was involved in a serious bicycle accident, which the 57-year-old chef talked about in a new video after a «very bad» fall. In a recent Instagram post, Gordon addressed «all dads» in honor of Father’s Day.
«Turn on the sound and scroll… with tomorrow’s #FathersDay I have a very important message for all dads… WEAR A HELMET!» Gordon captioned his post on June 15. «This week I had a really bad incident when I was riding a bike in Connecticut. I’m fine, I didn’t break any bones or suffer serious injuries, but I’m a bit scratched up and look like a purple potato».
In the social media video, Gordon noted that he is grateful to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London who took care of him and examined him, but he is most grateful to his helmet, which saved his life.
«It really shook me», - he admitted in the video. «And honestly, I’m happy to be here… You have to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the ride is. I don’t care how much these helmets cost. But they are vital».
Gordon lifted his chef’s jacket to show a huge, dark bruise he got on the left side of his torso from the bike fall.
The restaurateur did not share specific details of his bike incident. However, he did share photos of his biking outfit «before» and «after». In the «after» picture, his black helmet was placed on top of a yellow suit.
The star of the show «Next Level Chef» is not the only celebrity to have been involved in a bike incident recently. In May, Nina Dobrev was hospitalized after an accident on an electric bike. She provided an update to her followers on social media earlier this month through Instagram.
