Grant Ellis will be the next star of The Bachelor on ABC

After an emotional departure from the «Bachelor» project, Grant Ellis has already been named ABC’s next rose-giving star.
Ellis, a 30-year-old former professional basketball player from Houston, Texas, will get his chance to find love when he becomes the lead in the 29th season of «The Bachelor», - airing in 2025.
«The self-proclaimed mama’s boy, Grant’s smile and unwavering positive attitude instantly light up every room he walks into», - ABC said in a press release on Monday. «A former professional basketball player, he is passionately devoted to his career as a day trader, but when he’s not immersed in the fast-paced world of finance, you can find him cheering on the Lakers, bowling strikes, or singing karaoke».
The news comes after Jenn Tran, 26, eliminated Ellis, Spencer Conley, and Sam McKinley in the episode of «The Bachelor» on August 12.
Tran said goodbye to Ellis after he told her he was falling for her. «I poured my heart out, and it wasn’t good enough», - he told the cameras. «It's just sad to know that you feel something for someone, and they don’t feel the same way about you».
Like Tran, Ellis barely missed out on hometown dates, during which the show’s star meets the families of the remaining contestants.
«I want a family, you know?» he said. «I want to be happy. I want a wife. I want to be in love. I want that, you know? I want to give everything to someone, and I want them to give everything back to me. I don’t know what else to say. I didn’t think this would happen today».
