The pop star, 54, opened up about her insecurities in the new issue of Nylon magazine, published on Tuesday, April 9. Gwen admitted that these insecurities even took a toll on her relationship and marriage with country star Blake Shelton, 47. In the article, she opened up about divorce rumors and denied them, saying how much she loves Blake.
Gwen opened up about how past insecurities arose in their relationship. «Even if I know the truth about what’s happening today, you still create drama in your mind because of your insecurities and what might happen. I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and started to think paranoidly», - she told the magazine.
The singer admitted that some of the things she «asked» about were whether she was aging or still «attractive». Blake explained that they openly talk about the «insecurities» that bother them. «These are conversations we have with each other: 'Will you still love me when I grow old or forget who I am?'» he said.
Gwen continued and said that even if she «reassesses», - she still «loves her best friend». She has no problems with Blake, and she denied divorce rumors. «But when you’re in love and your values really align, no one can touch us. You can say anything about our relationship — I mean, a week ago we were getting divorced again or something like that», - she told the publication. «It's just a lie. The truth is the truth, and we know it is. And that’s why [negativity] will never get through just because I become vulnerable and share the song ['Purple Irises'] that I wrote not for anyone but myself and Blake».
