Halsey has published a heartfelt message about her health, revealing that she almost died from lupus and a rare T-cell disorder. The 29-year-old singer turned to Tumblr last week and made several shocking revelations, including a near-fatal experience and her regret about being in the spotlight.
«My own fans certainly treat me much harsher than anyone else on the planet», - Halsey began her message, adding, «I'm not speaking on behalf of all of you, of course. But it used to be only a minority who were awful to me, and now it seems like the majority only stick around to occasionally express how much they hate me or how awful I am».
Noting that «it's hard to want to participate in a space that is completely devoid of kindness, sympathy, tolerance; or frankly, human dignity», - Halsey pointed out that she almost «lost» her life.
«Especially after years of hiding from interactions out of fear that this exact thing would happen», - Halsey continued. «I don’t know, dude. I almost lost my life».
Although it is unclear what exactly led to Halsey’s vulnerable post, she noted that she «won't do anything that doesn’t make me happy anymore», - adding, «I can’t spiritually afford it».
«When I got sick, all I could think about was getting better to come back and be a part of THIS again, but I don’t even know what *this* is right now, and I want to crawl in a hole, and I regret coming back», - Halsey concluded.
The singer’s message «Not Mad Anymore» came almost two months after she revealed her diagnosis of lupus and T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. In June, releasing new music about her journey to recovery, Halsey noted in an Instagram caption that she is «happy to be alive».
