Heidi Gardner left the show «Saturday Night Live» after eight seasons on the sketch show. The actress’s departure occurred in August 2025 along with several other cast members, and Heidi has not yet commented on the situation at the time of publication.
After eight years on SNL, Heidi was the longest-serving female cast member of the ensemble. So, as her time on the show came to an end, here are five things you should know about the star of Leo.
Heidi was well-prepared for any improvisational situations on live television, as she was a member of the same comedy school and theater that produced other SNL alumni such as Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, and Maya Rudolph.
She caught the attention of showbiz heavyweights as part of the «New Faces of Characters» show at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal in July. According to her mother, Erni Huellke, on Facebook, she auditioned for SNL three weeks ago and was hired by the show’s creator and executive producer. «Lorne Michaels called her and said she was funny, her sketches were amazing, and she would thrive on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!!!» she wrote.
Heidi voiced Coo/Gloria in the online show SuperMansion on Sony Crackle. She also voiced Yasmin in the 2015 animated TV show «Bratz».
She hails from Kansas City, Missouri, and according to her Groundlings biography, she is a huge fan of the professional baseball and football teams of her hometown, the KC Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. Since there is no NBA team in the city, her heart belongs to LeBron James and wherever he plays, whatever is happening with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
She has three cats named Twinkie, Cabbie Bear, and Marshall. They are her true loves, and she loves to post photos of these creatures on her Instagram account
