Hailey Welch, better known as the «Hawk Tua» girl, became the latest person to go viral on the internet.
The Generation Z star became famous after her viral interview, but it was her unique response «Hawk Tua» that caught everyone’s attention. This clip propelled Hailey into internet stardom with her cheerful personality. She transitioned from working from home, taking care of her grandmother, and attending college, to becoming a full-fledged content creator.
In an interview on the «Viall Files» podcast, she noted how new this lifestyle was for her, especially considering she had little travel experience before. «It was something I had never experienced before, like going everywhere. I had never been to New York, today is my first day in Los Angeles», - she told host Nick Viall. «I had been on a few planes, but two weeks ago was my first time. It scared me».
As her life changed overnight, she reminisced about missing her old life. «It's like a fever dream. It still doesn’t feel real, doing all these fun things and going out and doing this and that. It doesn’t feel real — I wake up the next day like I didn’t do that».
The term she uses, «Hawk Tua», - has its own meaning depending on the context. Hailey revealed that it’s a word she used with her cousin before. «So my little cousin, who I’m very close with, we always joked… We use it differently, you know, I’m going to 'hawk tua' - we’re going to say it and spit on someone because they annoyed you. But I use it in a different way».
She plans to use her platform for good deeds. «I want to do a little bit with this. I want to do charity… We just did something with PetSmart. I bought a lot of things at PetSmart and donated them to an animal shelter just outside of Nashville… I want to do more of these things, and we’re doing something here with a children’s home». She emphasized the importance of using her platform for more meaningful purposes. «I mean, you have all this money, and you’re not doing anything useful with it. I want to do something useful with it, because what am I going to do with it?»
