Holland Taylor explained why she and her partner Sarah Paulson do not want to work together on screen. In an interview on Sirius XM on Friday, October 16, Taylor, who is 83 years old, admitted that the idea does not seem appealing to them. «Many people ask us about this because we say it’s quite strange. I don’t know, it’s just very, very strange», - she noted.
Taylor and Paulson, 51, have been together for 11 years, having met through social media in 2015 after meeting at a dinner ten years prior. The topic of their collaboration arose when host Bevy Smith mentioned that many famous couples have shared the screen, including Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, as well as the late Paul Newman, who cast his wife Joanne Woodward in several films.
Taylor added that their relationship piques people’s curiosity, and this can confuse viewers. She also previously told Variety that she cannot imagine working with Paulson ever becoming appealing to her. «I don’t like to see couples working together because I always become aware of their coupledom», - she explained.
Despite not working together, the couple often appears in public, including on the red carpet at the premiere of Taylor’s comedy series Brothers in Los Angeles in September. Paulson and Taylor, who have an age difference of nearly 32 years, describe their relationship as «unusual», - especially since they live in separate homes. Paulson has previously shared that they are comfortable spending time together, but they do not live under the same roof.
