Halle Berry’s ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, has filed a court petition seeking a temporary restraining order against her, accusing the actress of abusing their 12-year-old son, Maceo. According to court documents obtained by Us, Martinez submitted the request for the restraining order on October 1.
In his allegations, Martinez claims that an incident occurred on September 26, when Maceo called him asking to be picked up from Berry’s home, stating that she allegedly «physically attacked him and choked him». Martinez stated that he heard his son panicking while Berry continued to yell at him. He said that when he arrived, Berry did not come out of the house, but her partner helped Maceo gather his belongings.
Martinez also claims that this is not the first instance of alleged violence from Berry. He accused her of «attacking Maceo without reason», - alleging that she supposedly used «choke holds» during mixed martial arts training. Maceo reportedly told his mother that he «hates» it when she involves him in training, but Berry «downplayed the incidents».
Martinez requested a temporary restraining order for himself and Maceo against Berry and asked to temporarily modify their joint custody agreement to a «no contact» order. He noted that he does not want to permanently sever the relationship between Berry and their son, but believes they should not interact until Berry takes responsibility for her actions.
Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, commented on Martinez’s allegations, stating that «this claim is completely unfounded and deliberately misleading». She added that there is ample evidence, including court rulings, confirming that Martinez has repeatedly violated court orders and interfered with necessary therapeutic and educational interventions to the detriment of their son.
Berry and Martinez married in July 2013 after three years of dating, and three months later, they welcomed Maceo. The couple separated in October 2015 after two years of marriage, and their divorce was finalized in August 2023.
