Halle Berry denies ex-husband's allegations of abusing son

Halle Berry has denied allegations made by her ex-husband Olivier Martinez that she allegedly caused physical harm to their 13-year-old son Maceo. In court documents obtained by Us, Berry stated that she was «absolutely shocked» by Martinez’s filing and that he never reached out to her to discuss the incident or express concern regarding the alleged allegations about Maceo.
On October 1, Martinez obtained a domestic violence restraining order on behalf of himself and Maceo, and also filed a request for an emergency modification of their joint custody agreement. He claimed that Maceo told him during a phone call on September 26 that Berry «physically attacked» him and «choked» him during an argument. Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, called Martinez’s allegations «completely unfounded and intentionally misleading».
In court documents obtained by Us on October 12, Martinez stated that Maceo «wants to speak to the court to present his version of events». However, Berry believes that the legal proceedings have already had a significant impact on the child, and that testimony is unnecessary. She expressed concerns that requiring Maceo to testify would place him at the center of an emotional conflict between his parents.
Martinez had previously asked the court to exclude Berry’s daughter, Nahla Aubry, from the ongoing custody battle, claiming that she «has no significant relevance to the case». Nahla, 18, has defended her mother against allegations that she harmed Maceo. In her documents, Berry and her team also claimed that «there is evidence that [Maceo] was coached and manipulated by his father».
Martinez’s attorney, Patrick Baghdasarian, denied these allegations, stating, «We firmly reject such accusations. The child is the primary victim in this situation». In her latest court statement, Berry also responded to Martinez’s claim that Maceo allegedly «took a picture of [Berry] after the incident to try to establish evidence of what happened».
