Halle Berry sues Olivier Martinez over their son

Halle Berry has filed court documents requesting to restore the joint custody agreement with her ex-husband Olivier Martinez regarding their son Maceo. In 2022, Berry and Martinez agreed to joint legal and physical custody, which involves splitting the week between their homes and alternating weekends.
After Martinez accused Berry of physical abuse towards Maceo, she stated in the filed documents that she has never harmed her son and is a victim of domestic violence. In the new documents, Berry claims that Martinez’s behavior negatively affects their relationship with their son. She noted that after spending time with Martinez, Maceo becomes «angry and aggressive».
Berry also indicated that Maceo repeats arguments she has discussed privately with Martinez and takes his father’s side. According to her, this occurs even in matters related to parenting decisions, such as sports activities or therapy. She added that Martinez’s behavior and his unwillingness to co-parent adversely impact Maceo, who recently turned 13.
Martinez responded to Berry’s statement by asking the court to deny her request. Last week, he also filed for a temporary restraining order against Berry and sole custody of Maceo. In response, Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, stated that Martinez’s claims are «completely unfounded and intentionally misleading». She emphasized that there is ample evidence supporting violations of court orders by Martinez.
The judge granted a temporary restraining order, stating that partial custody should continue to maintain the connection between Berry and Maceo. As part of this ruling, Berry will have time with her son on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
