Holly Madison supports Jessica Biel in controversy over film
Holly Madison spoke out about Jessica Biel’s upcoming film «Playmates», - which has sparked controversy. In an interview with TMZ on October 10, she expressed her support for Biel and her co-star Lily-Rose Depp, despite the criticism directed at the film and its themes.

The film, which tells a coming-of-age story, follows the character Elle (Indiana Evans) as she befriends Anna (Depp), and both girls aspire to become the next «Playmate of the Month» for Playboy magazine. Jessica Biel will portray a fictional version of Hugh Hefner’s wife, who passed away in 2017.

Although Biel has not commented on her role, she has already faced backlash from critics who claim the film downplays serious allegations against Hefner. Crystal Hefner, Hugh’s widow, urged Biel to reconsider her involvement in the project if the film intends to romanticize Hefner and the world of Playboy. She noted that she herself experienced sexual, emotional, and physical abuse in their relationship.

Crystal also expressed hope that the filmmakers would consider the perspectives of women who have lived through such experiences before turning the story into a nostalgic narrative. She previously shared her experiences living in the Playboy mansion, describing it as «traumatizing» in her book «Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself».

Madison, who was in a relationship with Hugh Hefner from 2001 to 2008, emphasized that she remains open-minded about the project.
