According to People, the lawsuit filed by Diau in November 2023 accused Brown of «beating» him with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila. In the lawsuit, Diau claimed that Brown «relentlessly stomped» on him for «30 seconds», - and he ended up in the hospital with head wounds and torn ligaments in his leg as a result.
Diau also claimed that he received «severe blows» to the head, leaving him unconscious, and he was left with «permanent» damage and «serious emotional distress» from the alleged attack, according to the lawsuit.
As of the publication date, Brown is still in custody at the Metropolitan Police. According to The U.K. Sun, Met Police initially did not disclose Brown’s name but confirmed that a 36-year-old man «was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00 on Thursday, May 15 [2025] on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm».

He was ordered to remain in custody until the next hearing in London on June 13, 2025, the day he is scheduled to perform in Frankfurt, Germany, as part of his tour.
Judge Joanna Hurst denied Brown’s request for bail after prosecutor Hannah Nichols pointed out that the alleged crime is «extremely serious», - according to CNN. Brown was subsequently transferred to Southwark Crown Court in London, where he is expected to appear in court on the charges
