Chris Brown, who has had legal issues in the past, was reportedly arrested in Manchester, England on May 15, 2025. The arrest was reported three weeks before the 36-year-old Brown was set to embark on his Breezy Bowl XX tour in the Netherlands on June 8. Now that he has been taken into custody, fans are wondering if this could lead to jail time for the artist of «Under the Influence».
According to a statement obtained by The U.K. Sun, the police did not name Brown, but confirmed that a 36-year-old man «was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 2:00 am on Thursday, May 15 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm».
«He was taken into custody, where he remains», - the statement read. «The arrest is related to an incident at a venue on Hanover Square on February 19, 2023… The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Central West Basic Command Unit».

Brown, reportedly, was arrested on May 15, 2025 on suspicion of being involved in an alleged assault from February 2023 that took place at the nightclub TAPE on Hanover Square. Producer Abe Diau filed a lawsuit against him in November of the same year.
According to People, the lawsuit claimed that Diau accused Brown of «beating» him with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila. Diau also claimed that Brown «relentlessly stomped» on him for «30 seconds», and the producer «ended up in the hospital with head wounds and torn ligaments in his leg». As a result, the producer suffered «severe blows» to the head, leaving him unconscious.
The lawsuit also claimed that Diau was left with «permanent» damage and «severe emotional distress» from the alleged attack.
As of the time of publication, Brown, reportedly, is in custody of the Metropolitan Police, according to The U.K. Sun.
Since Brown has not publicly commented on his alleged arrest, his upcoming tour is still scheduled for June 8 in Amsterdam
