Imogen Faith Reed brings Natalie Grace’s story to the screen in the mini-series «Good American Family» on Hulu. The role of the British actress was secured for her in 2022. The series tells the story through multiple perspectives to «explore issues of perspective, bias, and trauma», - according to Hulu’s logline.
The show introduces viewers to a Midwestern couple, Christina and Michael Barnett (played by Ellen Pompeo and Mark Duplass, respectively), who adopt a girl with a rare form of dwarfism, «but as they begin to raise her alongside their three biological children, a mystery arises around her age and origin, and they slowly begin to suspect that she may not be who she says she is. As they protect their family from the daughter they have come to believe as a threat, she leads her own struggle to confront her past and understand what awaits her in a confrontation that ultimately plays out in the tabloids and in court», - the rest of the series logline reads.

Natalie was an orphan adopted by Michael and Christina Barnett in 2010. The Barnetts accused Natalie of being an adult woman pretending to be a child. Two years later, the Barnetts successfully petitioned the court to change Natalie’s birthdate on her birth certificate to 1989, legally changing her age from 8 to 22 at the time. In 2013, the Barnetts left Natalie in an apartment in Lafayette, Indiana, and moved to Canada. Christina and Michael faced criminal charges of neglect of a dependent in 2019. However, their charges were dismissed.
Prosecutors from the neglect case found Natalie’s birth mother in Ukraine and medical records confirming Natalie’s claim that she was born in 2003, not 1989.
Antwon and Cynthia Mans noticed Natalie struggling to survive on her own in Indiana, and they took her in. However, according to PEOPLE, Natalie left the Mans to live with another couple named Nicole and Vince DePolo, who were denied adoption of Natalie in 2009.
Since Natalie Grace’s birth records indicate she was born in September 2003, she turned 21 in February 2025.
Imogen turned 27 in May 2024, according to her Instagram. On her 27th birthday, the actress joked about how «serious» 27 sounds.
