Ed Sheeran invited Isaac Slade, the former frontman of The Fray, as a special guest for his concert in Atlanta, which took place on October 3. This event occurred amid a scandal involving the exclusion of rapper Macklemore from his Loop Tour.

Slade performed a shortened set before Sheeran at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, singing hits from The Fray such as «How to Save a Life» and «You Found Me». During his performance, he expressed his gratitude, stating that it was a great honor for him to be there. Slade also touched on important issues related to the conflict in Gaza, noting that finding common ground is essential for achieving peace.

Earlier that same day, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium released graphics with information about the concert, mentioning the special guest who would perform before Sheeran. In recent weeks, Sheeran had often performed without support, as his tour partners, including Finneas and the band Beoga, had stepped away in solidarity with Macklemore.

The scandal surrounding Macklemore began when he performed at two Loop Tour concerts in New Jersey, where he stated «Freedom for Palestine» and performed his protest song «Hind's Hall». Following this, he was excluded from the tour, which sparked public discontent. Sheeran later acknowledged that he made mistakes in handling the situation and expressed regret over its development.

Sheeran’s tour in the U.S. will conclude on November 7 in Tampa, after which he will head to Latin America, with the final concert scheduled for December 11 in Mexico City.
