After the inauguration of President Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, changes began. Rumors started circulating that the government website directing women to information about reproductive rights disappeared on Monday. Read below to find out if ReproductiveRights.gov really stopped working, and to get more information.

According to Newsweek, ReproductiveRights.gov was launched in 2022. The site was part of a public campaign to inform women about reproductive health and direct them to information about their reproductive rights. It was launched after the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022.

According to the publication, an archived image of the site shows a section called «know your rights». HollywoodLife confirmed that the last snapshot of the site was taken on January 15, 2025 on Wayback Machine.

«Reproductive health care, including access to contraception and safe and legal abortion care, is an integral part of your health and well-being», - the archived page reads. «While the Roe v. Wade decision has been overturned, abortion remains legal in many states, and other reproductive health services remain protected by law. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is committed to providing you with accurate and up-to-date information on access to reproductive health care and resources. Our goal is to ensure that you have the appropriate information and support».

It added: «Below you will find information about your right to access reproductive health care, what your health insurance is required to cover, and where to turn if you need health insurance».

ReproductiveRights.gov is currently unavailable. It is unclear exactly when the site stopped working, although CBS reported on Monday evening after Trump’s inauguration that the site went down somewhere between January 15 and 20.

Xavier Becerra led the Department of Health and Human Services until January 20. According to NPR, the Democrat took on this role under former President Joe Biden in 2021. The appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services under Trump, according to US News and World Report, was stalled. Dorothy Fink, an endocrinologist, is currently serving as the acting secretary of the department
