Isla Fisher seems to have turned to the «support» she received from fans after her split with husband Sacha Baron Cohen. Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 48-year-old actress posted a picture of herself and thanked her followers. However, Isla did not mention Sacha, 52, or their breakup in her post.
«Thank you for all your kindness and support», - Isla wrote on the picture on Tuesday, May 14. In the image, she is smiling at the camera with a glass that appeared to be filled with wine on a nearby table.
Isla’s post came five weeks after she and Sacha announced their divorce last year. However, their statement came amidst the release of Rebel Wilson’s memoir, «Rebel Rising», - which contained allegations of sexual harassment against the actor of «The Trial of the Chicago 7».
«After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting down our rackets», - Isla and Sacha wrote in their statement on Instagram Stories on April 5. «In 2023, we jointly filed for divorce. We have always prioritized our privacy and quietly worked on this change. We forever share our commitment and love for our children. We sincerely thank you for respecting our family’s desire for privacy».
The divorced couple is raising three children, whom Isla and Sacha have decided to shield from the public eye.
Just a few weeks before the announcement of their split, excerpts from Rebel’s memoir became popular on social media. In one part of the book, the star of «Pitch Perfect», - 44, claimed that Sacha forced her to film a sexual scene that she did not consent to for their comedy film «The Brothers Grimsby».
«I felt like every time I spoke to SBC, he mentioned wanting me to be naked in a future scene», - Rebel claimed. «I was like, 'Ha, I’m not going to be naked, Sacha.'» She also accused Sacha of asking her to «stick her finger in his ass».
In response to her claims, an unknown production producer told PEOPLE that Rebel «read and approved» the sexual scene in question.
«At no point did Sacha ask her to stick her finger in his ass», - the producer said. «Throughout this entire period, she was treated with the utmost respect and support and was welcomed as a co-author in all creative areas».
Furthermore, most of the allegations against Sacha in Rebel’s book were edited out for the release of the memoir in the UK
