The world of music adores wonderful children, but so many of them burn out in their youth, suppressed by the passion and pressure surrounding them. But not Ivy Chang. She began her musical education at the age of three and made her debut with a concert for Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor in Taiwan at the age of twelve. Today she is known worldwide, with a long career of successes built on an unquenchable passion for music and performance. She is an outstanding violinist, pianist, mentor, teacher, and a staunch advocate for the power of music.

Chang was a young woman with many talents. Supported by her parents, she could have chosen from a variety of different careers. «I thought long and hard about my future», - says Chang. «As a person with many interests, excelling not only in music but also in academics, I asked myself, do I want to pursue music for the rest of my life?»

She chose to prioritize her love for music. This became a defining, foundational decision. Moving to the United States to begin a career in musical performance, she won scholarships from the pre-college and college divisions of the Manhattan School of Music, giving her access to some of the world’s best music educators.

Chang’s passionate dedication to music paid off, and she began performing nationally and internationally. Her resume includes performances at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and the Palais Auersperg in Vienna. She has performed in Germany, Italy, Spain, China, and beyond, attracting audiences worldwide. Sometimes following one’s first love leads to success, and Chang’s deep love for musical performance has taken her around the world.

Chang achieved great academic success, studying music at renowned institutions. After graduating from SUNY Purchase College with a President’s Award for Achievement, she was offered the opportunity to continue her education at a prestigious university. There she earned a Bachelor of Music degree before moving on to a Doctor of Musical Arts program at the Mason Gross School of Music on a full scholarship.

With a wealth of successes behind her and a long career ahead, Chang has begun to perform as a mentor. While she has received numerous awards and certificates in competitions, her students have also excelled. Chang takes pride in her students' performances in exams from the Royal Schools of Music, where they often receive top marks.

«To be a musician is a lifelong ambition», - says Chang. «We are constantly moving forward and improving. In addition to sharing wonderful music with the audience, I sincerely believe that music can heal, inspire, bring joy, and bring hope to all who want to listen». This conviction has led Chang to a long career of self-improvement and helping others learn to channel their passions and pursue their musical ambitions. «The greatest reward for me», - she says, «is to share this beautiful art form with the world»
