Jack Kennedy Schlossberg, the grandson of John Kennedy and son of Caroline Kennedy, was not surprised by his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s decision to support Donald Trump after suspending his campaign.
«I have never been so little surprised in my life. I have been talking about this for over a year — RFK Jr. is for sale, working for Trump. Allies and enjoying it», - wrote the 31-year-old Schlossberg on Friday.
«Kamala Harris for the people — the easiest decision of all time just got easier», - added Schlossberg.
Since RFK Jr. announced his independent candidacy for president last October, he has received little support from the Kennedy clan, including his own brothers and sisters. In fact, before Vice President Kamala Harris joined the presidential race, the family supported Joe Biden, calling their relative a «threat» to the United States.
In May, Schlossberg released a series of videos in which he adopts a heavy Boston accent in the comedic role of a voter named Jimmy.
«Many talk about Robert F. Kennedy Jr»., - he said from the front seat of his car. «You know, I’m a fan of his father and uncle — rest in peace. I remember the day of his assassination. It was a tragic day. The whole country mourned».
«Jimmy» then criticized RFK Jr.'s campaign.
«But listen, this guy, he’s a coward, a new guy, a young guy, he’s a damn coward», - he said. «He's lying to you, okay? 'Independent,' 'third party,' yeah, damn lying. He has Trump donors. He has Trump advisors. He and Trump have known each other for a long time. Don’t be fooled. Don’t waste your vote».
The 31-year-old lawyer continued: «Vote for Biden. It will be nice. It will be fun! We will continue to grow. This economy will continue to thrive. We will thrive, everyone will be rich».
Now, with Harris as the Democratic Party’s candidate, Schlossberg continues to support the Democratic Party. On Tuesday, he was one of the first speakers to take the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
«Today, John Kennedy’s second call to action becomes our answer. Because once again the torch is passed to a new generation. A leader who shares the energy, vision, and optimism of my grandfather towards our future. This leader is Vice President Kamala Harris»
