13 december 2024 в 06:37
James Kennedy (full name: James Kennedy Georgiou), a graduate of the show «Vanderpump Rules», - was reportedly arrested last week — and Bravo viewers want answers. The news came a few weeks after VPR announced changes in the cast, replacing Kennedy and his former colleagues. As the reality star is dating his girlfriend, Raquel Leviss, fans of the couple are curious about their relationship. Leviss was seen at an event the day after her boyfriend’s arrest, so it is unclear where they stand.
Hollywood Life breaks down the details of Kennedy’s arrest below.
Kennedy was arrested in Burbank, California, on December 11, confirmed the police in a statement obtained by Variety. TMZ was the first to report on this.
«On December 10, 2024, around 11:30 pm, Burbank police were dispatched to a residence due to a dispute between a man and a woman», - the statement read. «The investigation revealed that it was a domestic incident that led to the arrest of Mr. Georgiou. Mr. Georgiou was arrested on charges of domestic violence and was later released on bail. Formal charges await review by the Burbank city prosecutor».
After being charged, Kennedy was released from police custody after posting bail of $ 20,000, according to Variety.
It is unclear who the woman involved in the incident was. Leviss was not named.
Neither Kennedy nor Leviss have publicly commented on his arrest. The day after Kennedy’s arrest, Leviss attended the New Year’s Eve with Windsor event at the Short Stories hotel in Los Angeles, where she was seen smiling for the cameras and spending time with her reality show colleagues.
Kennedy and Leviss have been dating since 2022 after Kennedy broke up with his former fiancée, Raquel «Raquel» Leviss, who later faced criticism for her relationship with Tom Sandoval when he was still dating his then-girlfriend, Ariana Madix. Leviss left the show after 10 seasons, and she and Sandoval did not continue their relationship.
Leviss is currently suing Madix and Sandoval, and her lawyers Mark Geragos and Brian Friedman have commented on Kennedy’s arrest.
«We are aware of James Kennedy’s recent arrest for domestic violence», - Leviss' lawyers said in their statement obtained by Variety. «This news, unfortunately, does not come as a surprise. Rachel’s lawsuit details a long history of Mr. Kennedy’s unpredictable, violent behavior, and substance abuse».
The lawyers also pointed to the companies managing VPR: NBC and Evolution Media.
«However, it is also troubling that NBC and Evolution (the production company of Vanderpump Rules) have known about Mr. Kennedy’s problematic behavior all this time and have engaged in a years-long cover-up in his favor», - the lawyers claimed, adding, «They are also responsible».
Bravo, the network of VPR, is owned by NBCUniversal. None of the representatives of NBCU or Evolution Media have publicly commented on Kennedy’s arrest at the time of publication.
