Jason Mewes does not know about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s marriage: «I'm not sure»

Jason Mewes may be friends with Ben Affleck, but he definitely is not familiar with the state of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez. In a new interview, the comedian clarified what he knows — or doesn’t know — about one of Hollywood’s most closely watched couples.
«I haven’t talked to [Ben] in a long time, and I feel like everyone has their own opinion, and I’m not sure», - shared Jason, 52, in an interview with PEOPLE, published on Wednesday, June 26. «I feel like even if I did know, I probably wouldn’t want to share it, but I really don’t know».
The actor, who starred alongside Ben, 51, in the 1999 film «Dogma» and the hit 2001 film «Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back», - also addressed rumors that his friend and Jennifer, 54, are living separately in Los Angeles.
Again, Jason made it clear that he doesn’t know if this is true.
«If someone decides to rent a place, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are separating», - he explained. «I know from my two kids that sometimes you just need a break — especially if you’re saying, 'Hey, I’m going to write this script and I need just two weeks to focus.'»
As it turns out, Ben was busy filming the upcoming sequel to «The Accountant». As for Jennifer, she recently marked the premiere of her new film «The Atlas» on Netflix in May.
As for why Jason is speaking out about the couple, the comedian caused some excitement earlier this month when asked about Ben and Jen’s love story. After attending the couple’s wedding two years ago, Jason explained that he would be shocked if they were to split.
«I don’t believe it», - he told TMZ on May 22, before being asked more about the couple. «Maybe he’s busy with work, and she’s busy too, and with kids it’s too much. I’m not saying that’s the case — I don’t know — but why jump to the conclusion that they have problems? Just curious».
Neither Jennifer nor Ben have commented on the rumors about their marriage. However, on Father’s Day weekend, «The Dance Floor Singer» shared a photo of her husband from the movie «Pearl Harbor», - in which he is sitting at the helm. Above the picture, the Grammy nominee wrote: «Our hero. Happy Father’s Day»
