Donald Trump’s ally, JD Vance, mocked Vice President Kamala Harris' recent interview on CNN in a new social media post. On Thursday, August 29, the 40-year-old Ohio senator compared Harris' statements to the performance of then-Miss South Carolina at the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant.

«Breaking: I got the full Kamala Harris interview on CNN», - Vance tweeted. In the video he posted, former Miss South Carolina Caitlin Upton awkwardly answered a question about why some Americans can’t find the country on a map.

Vance has been critical of Harris, 59, and her policies throughout the 2024 election campaign. Several hours before her interview on CNN aired, Vance criticized Harris in a separate tweet, writing: «Thanks to Kamala Harris and her incompetence, many low-income seniors are struggling to get the food they need. What a shame».

He then added: «But I guess the illegal immigrants she invited are enjoying free healthcare».

For her part, Harris has also criticized Vance and Trump, 78, during her election campaign. Vance, in particular, was criticized by celebrities and Democrats for his comments on women and children in a 2021 broadcast. He was speaking with Tucker Carlson on Fox News and described Democrats as «a bunch of childless cat ladies who are unhappy in their lives and choices they’ve made, and so they want the rest of the country to be unhappy too».

«It's just a fact», - he added during the interview. «Look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] - the future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make sense that we’ve handed our country over to people who have no direct interest in it?»

Harris supporters cited Vance’s comments, including US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. During the Democratic National Convention earlier this month, the 42-year-old former military officer criticized Vance’s remarks.

«JD Vance is the kind of person who thinks if you’re not living the way he imagines, then you don’t matter», - said Buttigieg, who is now a father of two. «The one who said that if you don’t have children, you don’t have, quote, 'physical attachment to the future of this country.'»

Buttigieg then addressed Vance directly, saying: «You know, Senator, when I was in Afghanistan, I didn’t have children. Many of the men and women who went out with me beyond the base also didn’t have children. But let me tell you, our attachment to the future of this country was quite physical»
