Jelly Roll is ready to take the stage outside of the United States. The singer of «Need a Favor» announced his first international concerts in Canada.

According to his official website, Jelly Roll, 39, is scheduled to perform on July 8 at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada in support of the Heather Winsteyn Fund.

«The Heather Winsteyn Fund and the Winsteyn family are grateful to Jelly Roll for honoring us with his first Canadian concert on our behalf», - said fund executive director Jennifer Dockstader in a statement to Billboard magazine on Tuesday, June 18. «His dedication to raising awareness, sharing his story, and supporting substance use disorder treatment is a beacon of hope for both indigenous and non-indigenous people throughout Turtle Island. His message sheds light on the issues facing our loved ones and helps us celebrate the healing of our relatives in our community, offering opportunities for equality and reconciliation».

The next day, the singer will perform at Bluesfest in Ottawa, where artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Noah Cyrus, Nickelback, and Maroon 5 will also perform.

«When the opportunity arose to invite Jelly Roll, we immediately took advantage of it», - said Bluesfest executive and artistic director Mark Monahan to Billboard magazine. «He has an amazing story, and he is a great performer».

This is a special milestone for Jelly Roll, who had not previously booked concert dates in Canada or abroad due to visa restrictions related to arrests and convictions in his past life. Before his rise to fame, the singer was in prison nearly 40 times on various drug charges.

«It's funny that America finally agreed to let me leave and issue me a passport, but some countries won’t let me in because of my crimes», - he told Interview magazine earlier this month. «We're working on it. I think it will work in my favor».

Jelly Roll has openly spoken about his past and inspired millions of fans with his sincerity and honesty. When he became the father of his 15-year-old daughter Bailey Ann, a Grammy nominee, he said that everything changed for the better.

«I honestly believe that if I didn’t have a child, I would never have broken this cycle», - he said in an episode of the Howard Stern show on SiriusXM on June 12. «My fear now is my loved ones. If I lost all of this today and went back to Antioch, I’d be fine. But if you told me that my little girl could be without friends on her birthday, I would cry like a child before it even happened»
