Jelly Roll recalled his past, delivering an emotional speech at the CMA festival in Nashville, Tennessee. In a viral video captured by a fan on TikTok, the 39-year-old musician explained on June 8th that the juvenile correctional center was «right behind him, in the same parking lot».

«Let's applaud the boys and girls there, at the juvenile correctional center, for me — one time, as loud as you can», - Jelly Roll told the crowd. «And the reason I wanted you to make noise is because I know they hear us. And I know they hear us because once upon a time, I was one of them».

The «Wild Ones» artist continued, pointing out that he «went in and out of jail» and «went in and out of drug addiction» in the past.

Holding back tears, Jelly Roll concluded: «And tonight, I’m performing at the CMA festival on Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee, at Nissan Stadium».

Musician Jelly Roll headlined the CMA festival at Nissan Stadium last night, the largest venue in his hometown of Nashville, after visiting the juvenile correctional center in the same parking lot. He performed on stage in a custom jacket featuring images of both places.

According to various sources, the Grammy nominee has been in jail about 40 times on drug charges. He was first arrested when he was 14 years old. Before rising to fame in 2023, Jelly Roll created a new life for himself. Although he did not undergo drug rehabilitation, the country rapper visits recovery centers across the country to talk to people about their experiences.

Earlier this month, the hitmaker of «Son of a Sinner» announced that his international tour was postponed due to his past crimes. Speaking with Jon Bon Jovi, Jelly Roll noted in Interview Magazine that he is «so excited [to perform outside the US]» and added: «We're figuring out the last pieces of some legal puzzles so I can go abroad».

«It's funny that America finally agreed to let me leave and issue me a passport, but some countries won’t let me in because of my crimes», - Jelly Roll added. «We're working on it. I think it will be to my advantage».
