John Krasinski and Steve Carell met again during the filming of their new movie «If» and experienced an emotional reunion. John, 44, admitted that his former co-star from the series, 61-year-old Steve, made him cry when they met on the set of the new family movie about imaginary friends. Steve voices the main character Blue in the new animated film, and the director of «A Quiet Place» said it was one of the first times they had seen each other in a long time.
John talked about working with Steve again in a new interview for People magazine, published on Wednesday, May 15. He explained that he «wrote a role for him» and was thrilled when he agreed. «For me, it was a huge lift. It was like a stamp of approval from the family», - he told the magazine.
For those who may not know, John and Steve starred in the popular series «The Office» as Jim Halpert and Michael Scott respectively. Steve left the series in 2011, but returned for the finale in 2013. The star of «Jack Ryan» admitted that he was happy to reunite with Steve. «When he came, I thought I was going to have the best time, and it turned out that way, but the first thing he did was make me cry, which sounds sad, but it was amazing», - he said.
John explained that the actor from the movie «Beautiful Boy» told him that he always saw potential for great things in him when they worked together. «He said, 'I knew you were going to be a writer and director.' I replied, 'I didn’t even know that.' He just said, 'I'm proud of you, keep it up, I saw it all and I’m rooting for you from the sidelines,'» John explained. «So I cried at the beginning of our voiceover session, but luckily he immediately got into the role of Blue and lifted my spirits. It was wonderful»
