Julia Butters easily stole the show in every project she appeared in. From the series «American Housewife» to her breakthrough role in «Once Upon a Time in Hollywood», - hailing from Los Angeles, she has repeatedly graced both the big and small screens. And now, as she stars in the sequel «Friday, Crazy About You» — titled «Even Crazier Friday» — fans can’t believe how much Julia has grown!

Hollywood Life magazine has gathered five key facts about Julia below.

Julia was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Julia grew up under the care of her parents, father Darren Butters and mother Lorelei Butters. At some point, when she was just a child, Julia’s parents managed her Instagram page, which now has almost half a million followers.

Julia began her acting career at the age of two, appearing in commercials. Her first speaking role was in an episode of the series «Criminal Minds» in 2014. She played Ella in the comedy-drama series «Transparent» in eight episodes. She also appeared in the 2016 film «Family Man», - starring Gerard Butler and Alison Brie. From 2016 to 2020, Julia starred as Anna-Kat Otto in the ABC sitcom «American Housewife».

In 2019, Julia received critical acclaim for her role as child actress Trudi Fraser in «Once Upon a Time in Hollywood». Director Quentin Tarantino apparently chose Julia for this role after seeing her work on television. For her performance, Julia was nominated for several awards, including Best Young Actress at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in July 2025, Julia attributed her career to Tarantino and his 2019 film.

«I owe everything to this role», - Julia said. «It really changed my future — it was like a domino that put me in the race for all these other films».

Fans of «Friday, Crazy About You» couldn’t believe it when they saw teenage Julia on the big screen in the 2025 sequel. Playing Harper Coleman, the daughter of Lindsey Lohan’s character Anna Coleman, Julia brought so much emotion to her performance — from comedic antics to deep scenes that touched the hearts of viewers.
