«Stop» right now, Jenny Farley is making her directorial debut with her new horror film «Devon».
Straight from Jersey Shore, Jenny Farley is set to release her first film on November 12th through Screambox. She is known as a reality show star alongside her Jersey Shore team: Nicole «Snooki» Polizzi, DJ Pauly D, Mike «The Situation» Sorrentino, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Nicole Cortese, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Sammi «Sweetheart» Giancola, and Angelina Pivarnick. Since starring in the spin-off show «Snooki & Jenny» with her 36-year-old best friend, she has dreamed of this specific moment.
She wrote in an Instagram post: «I still remember filming in an abandoned psychiatric hospital on #SnookiandJWOWW and telling myself, 'One day I’m going to make a movie here.' Fast forward, and during the pandemic, I decided it was time to turn that dream into a reality. With the support of amazing friends, we brought *Devon* to life. For those who know me, understand my deep passion for horror films».
As this is her first time working on such a big project, she noted that the entire budget for this independent film came from her own pocket, taking on multiple roles from director to writer and producer, especially with only seven crew members on set. During her appearance on the «Viall Files» podcast, she called this film «everything and more than I wanted».
«I could fail… and I’m telling you, this is a low-budget film; it’s nothing special… I didn’t ask anyone for help… I just wrote the checks myself and said, if this never sees the light of day, I don’t care, but I just need to know that I like it and I want to do it», she added.
As the film is set in a real psychiatric hospital, according to Variety, the plot revolves around «after their daughter mysteriously disappears, Devon’s parents never stopped searching for the truth. After the psychiatric hospital from which the girl disappeared was closed, their questions seemed to go unanswered forever. Years later, a mysterious website recruits five brave individuals to investigate the abandoned psychiatric hospital and find out what happened to the girl. Unaware that they are embarking on a dangerous, one-way journey, these people delve into sinister depths armed only with their equipment, leading to a horrifying and deadly experience»
