During the trial for the murder of his wife, former «American Idol» contestant Caleb Flynn became the center of attention after songs he created using artificial intelligence for his mistress, Allegra Botner, were played in court. This was reported by the Ohio Bureau of Crime Investigation (BCI) on September 24.

A special agent from the BCI stated that audio files related to Flynn’s relationship with Botner were found on his iPhone. He also noted that several days before the alleged murder of his wife, which occurred on February 16, various apps were deleted from Flynn’s phone, including those that create songs using AI. Two songs were presented in court, eliciting reactions from the victim’s family—some laughed, while others expressed discontent.

Allegra Botner, who also testified in court, read several of the more than 100,000 messages she exchanged with Caleb during their affair. She noted that the songs were written to show how much he cared for her, but now they mean nothing to her. Botner also recounted how they would meet when Caleb was supposed to be at the gym.

Caleb Flynn was arrested after he called the police, claiming that a burglar had broken into their home and shot his wife. Prosecutors allege that he staged the crime to make it appear as though a robbery had occurred. The couple had two daughters who were sleeping in a nearby room during the tragedy.

During her testimony, Botner read messages in which they discussed the desire to kill Ashley or hire someone to do it. She cried as she read a text that said, «I want to kill her, Caleb». To this, Caleb allegedly responded, «This concerns both of us».

Caleb Flynn is charged with one count of aggravated murder, three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, three counts of tampering with evidence, and two counts of intimidation. He has pleaded not guilty. Flynn’s attorney, L. Patrick Mulligan, expressed dissatisfaction with the swift progress of the case and the alleged bias against his client.
