Caleb Flynn sentenced to life in prison for murdering his wife
Former «American Idol» contestant Caleb Flynn has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn. The sentence was handed down on Monday by Judge Janine Pratt, who noted that «the layers of deceit, manipulation, and cruelty are hard to comprehend», - adding that Flynn used his faith to manipulate the lives of others.

Before the sentencing, Flynn apologized to his family, stating, «I made vows to Ashley on our wedding day. I did not fulfill those vows». During the trial, details emerged about his affair with Allegra Botner, which lasted from 2024 until the beginning of this year.

Flynn also addressed his two daughters, Alice and Ava, saying, «I never knew such strong love was possible until I held you in my arms for the first time. Please know that your dad is proud of you and loves you more than words can describe». The daughters were not present in the courtroom.

Despite being convicted of aggravated murder, three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and three counts of evidence tampering, Flynn maintained his innocence. He stated, «As I stand here before God, who is my ultimate judge, I am not lying when I say I did not kill my wife».

Ashley was killed in February while she was sleeping in their home in Tipp City, Ohio. In March, police body camera footage was released showing Flynn, in tears, claiming he found his wife dead. He also called his mother, saying, «Ashley is dead! Mommy, she’s gone!» At the time of the murder, their two young daughters were in the house.

Flynn called the police, claiming that someone had broken into their home and shot his wife. However, it later emerged that he may have staged the crime scene. Flynn gained notoriety after appearing on «American Idol» in 2013, where he spoke about his love for God and his wife.
