The 23-year-old dancer will officially change her last name to her fiancé's last name, Nathan Goldman, who proposed to her in Lake Como, Italy. Kalani shared this exciting news on Instagram on Sunday, August 18, writing: «A lifetime of kisses with you. I couldn’t be happier or more grateful to be your bride. I love you forever, Nathan».
Along with the touching caption, Kalani posted photos from the engagement, capturing her surprise. She was dressed in a white, strapless silk dress, while Nathan wore a gray suit shirt, dark blue pants, and matching white sneakers. Kalani also shared reactions from her close family and friends, including her mother Kira Girard, Kendall Vertes, and Jojo Siwa, noting that she «feels so much love».
The couple started dating in April, when they made their relationship official on Instagram.
Hilliker has always valued the support of her former dance colleagues and teammates. Growing up on Dance Moms, she became an advocate for mental health. Reflecting on her experience, she told Business Insider: «When cameras and lights are on you, and so many people have their opinions about you, it’s really hard at that age, especially when you’re already dealing with the challenges of adolescence».
She added: «It was really tough, but thankfully, all the girls and our moms were very close. It was comforting to know that we had each other’s support regardless of everything».
Being in the spotlight at such a young age forced Kalani to mature quickly. Now, with time, she reflects: «It was a very difficult time, because you’re transitioning from a set schedule and life to being on your own, able to do whatever you want. The world is at your feet».
Now understanding that passion should not be excessive, she said: «I know that many people are busy with their daily lives — whether it’s being an athlete, working, studying, or whatever you do — everyone needs time for self-care, rest, and true recharge»
