Comedian Kam Patterson’s career was far from traditional. Before he became known thanks to the Kill Tony podcast, originally from Orlando, he worked at Foot Locker, where his colleagues pushed him to seriously pursue comedy. «I have one goal — comedy», - he told Orlando Weekly. «Once I worked at Foot Locker, and always told my colleagues stories. They said, 'Dude, you’re funny as hell. You should become a comedian.' They made me think that I could do it».

Since then, he has gained an audience in the hundreds of thousands online, performed on major stages, and even landed a role in an upcoming Kevin Hart film. Now, at just 26 years old, Patterson is stepping onto one of the biggest comedy stages as a cast member of the 51st season of Saturday Night Live.

Born in 1999 in Orlando, Florida, Patterson began testing his material at the Night Shade Lounge, where he quickly became prominent on the local open mic scene. But his comedy roots go even further — as he told Orlando Weekly, his second-grade teacher at Orlo Vista Elementary School allowed him to tell jokes to the class as a reward for completing assignments.

Patterson caught the attention of a national audience with his witty stand-up on Kill Tony, a live podcast and variety show that puts comedians to the test under pressure. His performances helped him gain momentum on the national stage, and by 2024 he was performing as part of the Kill Tony tour at Madison Square Garden.

Patterson is expanding into film. He is set to appear in «72 Hours», - a Netflix comedy in which Hart plays a 40-year-old executive who ends up on a wild bachelor party. Also starring in the film are his new SNL colleagues Marcello Hernandez and Ben Marshall.

Although he has achieved success through podcasts and live performances, Patterson maintains a strong presence on social media. His Instagram account, @kamsoofunny, has over 579,000 followers, showcasing his stand-up videos, posts about city tours, and sketches full of sharp observational humor.

NBC announced in September 2025 that Patterson will join Saturday Night Live as one of five new cast members in the 51st season. He will make his debut in Studio 8H when the new season kicks off on October 4, 2025, alongside Jeremy Kulhanek, Marshall, Veronika Slovikovska, and Tommy Brennan
