Camila Cabello embodied her own version of the theme of the 2024 Met Gala, «Garden of Time». While her tattered dress sparkled in front of the cameras, the real attention was drawn to the 27-year-old's accessory: a real, dripping icicle. In true «Beauty and the Beast» style, the ice surrounded a golden rose.
Photographers captured Camila’s unique accessory, which she carried like a clutch, as she walked the red carpet on Monday, May 6. She explained the significance of her cold clutch and the design of her torn dress during an interview with Extra that evening.
«I feel like it’s impermanence and things falling apart over time, and there’s beauty in that, so there’s kind of like torn edges of my dress», - she said, referring to the theme of the event, which also marked the exhibition of the Costume Institute, «Sleeping Beauties: The Awakening of Fashion».
After the interviewer pointed out the melting ice block, the «Bam Bam» hitmaker noted: «It was a clutch, but it broke about five minutes in line, so I called my stylist and asked, 'What do I do?'». In the end, Camila decided to «just take it as a clutch».
«We're just trying different things here», - she added.
That evening, Camila walked the red carpet alone and attended the after-party. Like most guests, she changed into another outfit after the lavish event. Arriving at The Standard Met Gala After-Party at The Boom Boom Room in New York, Camila was spotted in a little black dress.
