Canadian pole vaulter and OnlyFans star Alicia Newman went viral on Wednesday after celebrating her Olympic bronze by twerking.

Newman wowed fans in Paris when she cleared 4.85 meters in the hotly contested women’s pole vault final. But she didn’t stop there.

After securing her bronze medal — the first in her Olympic career, the 30-year-old athlete ran to the crowd before pausing for a moment to twerk in celebration with a wide smile.

«I'm so excited. I’m laughing because getting third place, I mean, I’ve never gotten third place, but it’s funny because you still have to wait and stand there while the other girls finish», - Newman said after receiving the medal. «So I awkwardly stand there and think: what do I do? Celebrate? Kiss everyone? Cry?»

Her Olympic celebration sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some questioning whether this bold move was made to increase traffic to her private content. Newman, who hails from Ontario, Canada, uses the OnlyFans platform, charging £10 ($ 12.70) per month for access to her adult content.

Newman is one of several athletes at the Games using OnlyFans to earn extra money.

British diver Jack Laugher delighted fans when he launched his account, charging $ 10 per month for access to his content. Speaking about his decision to use OnlyFans, Laugher said, «I'm willing to do anything to earn more money».

«Obviously, I have what people want», - the 29-year-old athlete told The Telegraph. «I'm happy to make money from it. I’m a bit of a businessman and want to make more money if I can».

The diver said that the adult-only site helps supplement the insufficient salary he receives as a professional athlete.

«My funding hasn’t changed [over the years]», - he noted. «I'm in the top three in the world, and that’s £28,000 [USD $ 36,000] a year».

Newman also opened up about using the platform during an interview with the German publication BILD, saying it gives her more confidence. «I make money from what I post — you have to log in to find out. It makes me confident, and I feel good about it», - she told the news agency.

«Of course, many people have a certain cliché when they think of OnlyFans. I can’t change the opinion of many people», - Newman added, speaking more about her additional income. «But this site has connected me with many fans, more than any other pole vaulter before me».

«I don’t care what others think of me. I am who I am, and I do it well»
