Kanye «Ye» West faced another lawsuit from former employees. The 47-year-old rapper was accused of maintaining a racist and hostile work environment, and his wife, Bianca Sensory, was also named in the lawsuit.
According to TMZ, West is facing charges of «forced labor and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment», - while Sensory, 29, allegedly sent «a link to an exchange file containing hardcore sexual acts» to one employee. Additionally, West’s former chief assistant, Milo Yannopoulos, was named in the lawsuit. They are accused of forcing employees to work «incredibly long hours» and subjecting them to racism in the workplace.
The lawsuit was filed by developers working on West’s streaming app, YZYVSN.
According to the lawsuit, unidentified individuals were promised $ 120,000 for their work, on the condition that they «complete the application». Former employees also claimed that some of them were called «slaves» and «new slaves» and were forced to sign non-disclosure agreements while working for West and Yannopoulos. The team worked remotely and communicated through Slack, Discord, and Zoom, according to the lawsuit.
Additionally, according to the lawsuit, some of those working on West’s app were minors aged 14, and they were also ordered to sign «voluntary» agreements.
In response to the lawsuit, Yannopoulos released a statement on behalf of Sensory.
«It was allowed by Bianca to emphasize that any claim that she showed or caused the display of pornographic material to minors is offensive, disgusting, vile, and categorically false», - his statement read, according to Deadline. «The tragic, desperate, attention-seeking Yeezy intern at the heart of this awful and disgusting package of lies, Shemar DaCosta, never had access to Ye, his family, or Yeezy, or any company-related information, and never will».
Yannopoulos also denied the allegations, adding in his statement that he tried to «get these app developers paid, as extensive correspondence shows». He added that those «claiming otherwise, including many in the press, are lazy or simply dishonest fools mindlessly repeating false lies from a lawsuit that makes more fantastical leaps than Lord of the Rings».
This is not the first time West has faced legal troubles. Last month, his former assistant, Lauren Pisquiotta, sued him for sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and several other charges. In April, former Yeezy employee Trevor Phillips accused the rapper of subjecting him to discrimination and a hostile work environment
