Captain Sandy Yawn provided an update on the situation with Nathan Gallagher, her co-star from «Below Deck Mediterranean», - following his arrest for domestic violence in Australia. In an interview with Page Six on October 14, she stated, «Nathan is struggling. We are in touch, and I encourage him to stop drinking and seek help».
Nathan, 30, was arrested in December near Sydney on domestic violence charges related to an incident involving a 29-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed. This occurred shortly after filming for Season 11 of «Below Deck Mediterranean» wrapped up. According to a police report, Nathan was charged with «causing bodily harm, non-consensual choking, and simple assault». He was granted conditional release but ultimately was convicted on three counts of domestic violence for failing to appear in court.
It was also revealed that a protection order (Apprehended Violence Application) was filed in New South Wales on behalf of Gael Cameron, with whom Nathan shares a two-year-old son, Kaiden. Following his arrest, Nathan was fired by Bravo.
Sandy noted that Nathan has taken her advice and «stopped drinking». «He is attending meetings and trying to change his life», - she added. In August, Nathan told Rolling Stone that he «does not claim to be perfect» and acknowledges his mistakes. He emphasized that he will take responsibility for his actions and disagrees with being portrayed in only one light.
Nathan also confirmed that he has ended his romantic relationship with Gael, but hopes for a «peaceful» co-parenting plan for their son. Gael, for her part, reached out to her followers on Instagram in September, expressing gratitude for their support and noting that she is using this time for healing and recovery.
