Carson Kressley recalls meeting Dolly Parton in 2004

Carson Kressley recalled his meeting with Dolly Parton, which took place in 2004 at the CMT Flameworthy Awards. During the broadcast of «Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen» on October 8, Kressley shared that he had never met Parton before and was very excited about the encounter.

Kressley noted that he chose a western-themed outfit for his appearance on stage in honor of Dolly. He described her as «the most genuine, angelic» and added that they quickly hit it off and spent time together rather than just exchanging pleasantries. «I was so nervous when I performed with her on stage. I think I got a little flustered because it’s Dolly. She was phenomenal», - Kressley shared.

These comments came after Kressley posted a selfie with Parton on Instagram taken on the night of the awards. He mentioned that he was supposed to share the photo on «Dolly Day» on September 25, adding that he misses her very much but is glad he got to know her.

Dolly Parton passed away on August 25 at the age of 80 after a brief battle with an undisclosed form of cancer. In a statement from her representative, it was said that she was a global icon and humanitarian whose life was vibrant and inspiring.
