So far, no one from 20th Century has confirmed that the concept for a third film has even been proposed, let alone a full script. But the cast is certainly ready for a new movie!
In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Meryl expressed hope that «they won’t wait 20 years» to make another film. Her colleague Stanley noted in a separate interview that if the studio waits another two decades, they will have to «dig him up» from the ground.
«I don’t think we can do this another 20 years from now. We need to do it sooner because I will be dead», - he joked.
Emily and Stanley, for their part, noted that they would like more screen time together in the new DWP film.
«We loved what we did, but we didn’t have enough time together», - Emily said about the second film.
As for Anne, she expressed hope for a third film, adding, «I feel like there are still many paths to explore. But we will probably have a better idea about that [when the film comes out]».
