Kathy Hilton: «My daughters are not just dolls, but wonderful mothers»

As Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton Rothschild grew up, Kathy Hilton was amazed by what she saw. «I was used to them still being walking, talking Barbie dolls», - exclusively told Hollywood Life Kathy, 65, during the celebration of her partnership with Smirnoff ICE SMASH Tea. «When they walk into a room together or we go to a fashion show in Paris, and I’m sitting there, and they walk into the room, I’m just a fan. I’m so proud».
But as her daughters fell in love, got married, and welcomed children, Kathy soon received a new title — grandmother. She also gained a new perspective on what her children are capable of.
«Now you see the other side», - reflected Kathy. «Now I look at them as moms, and their rules are their rules».
Although Nicky, 40, has always been an old soul, Kathy said, «she handles motherhood so confidently» and raises her three children with husband James Rothschild.
«I think she’s become softer after having children», - explained the star of «Paris in Love». «It really changed her so much, where Paris is light and carefree, like me. We are exactly the same. But Nicky has always been stricter».

Last month they went to Texas to attend the 34th annual «Knight to Remember» gala evening for the fight against childhood cancer. During the trip, the group continued to create unforgettable memories that deserve to be captured on a reality show.
«I'm like a child at the airport. I’m everywhere», - joked Kathy. «Bags everywhere. Where’s my passport? Where’s my license? Where’s the ticket? Nicky takes care of me. Paris and I at the airport? We would get lost. We would be at McDonald’s. We would be buying magazines. Nicky has to keep us in line».
As Mother’s Day quickly approaches, Kathy realizes that her daughters may want to celebrate it with their own families. (Paris, 43, now raises Phoenix and London with husband Carter Reum.) Instead of expecting a luxurious gift or an elaborate present, the «Real Housewives of Beverly Hills» participant believes in the mantra «less is more».
«I think a beautiful handwritten note is lovely», - explained Kathy. «It's not about the gift. It really isn’t about that. It’s really about the thought».
And perhaps a tasty drink wouldn’t hurt either. Kathy teamed up with Smirnoff ICE SMASH Tea before the tea (and talk) season to host a special tea party in West Hollywood, California.
«I like this drink, and it’s perfect for summer, and I also like that I love iced tea», - shared Kathy. «But it doesn’t make me bloated the next day. I’m going to post on Instagram some fun ways to enjoy the drink, adding fresh basil, mint, fruits. You can make it fun»
