Katie Holmes admitted that she was unaware of the Dawson’s Creek WhatsApp group chat in an interview with The Sunday Times, published on Saturday, June 8. «We sometimes exchange messages, but I didn’t know about WhatsApp», - the 45-year-old actress shared.
«I'm not very good at using WhatsApp. I hardly ever check it because it’s a bit too… Everyone has grown up and is busy, but the connection will always remain», - added the mother of one child.
Dawson’s Creek was popular from 1998 to 2003, starring Katie Holmes, James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams, and others.
Joshua, the creator of the group chat, told The Times in April 2023: «It's not used often, but from time to time someone shows up», - he said. «[In January] we celebrated the 25th anniversary [of the show], and there was a flurry of messages. It’s really about 'Oh my God, I can’t believe we all went through this together.' It’s obviously such an important moment in our lives».
During this interview, he even shared that sincerity was the key to the show’s success. «I think the secret of the show was that it didn’t talk down to young people… Those characters and what they went through seemed real. We tried to tell stories about those moments in life, and we were close enough to it at our age to deeply remember what that longing was like», - said actor Pacey Witter.
