Hayden Panettiere attended a hearing in the inheritance case

The daughter of Hayden Panettiere and Wladimir Klitschko, Kaya, attended a hearing regarding the estate of her late mother. The 11-year-old Kaya appeared in court on October 8, 2023, with Klitschko, who is 50 years old, and confirmed her identity to the judge when asked if she was with her father.
The hearing concerned the guardianship of Panettiere’s estate following her death in August at the age of 36. According to the coroner’s report, the cause of death was determined to be «toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine», - and her death was ruled accidental.
During the hearing, Klitschko was granted temporary guardianship of Panettiere’s estate after his attorney, Diane Y. Park, informed the judge that the former boxer was requesting additional powers to «request» and «authorize» law enforcement to investigate and assist in the «recovery of property believed to have been wrongfully taken» by a non-family member while Panettiere’s estate is ongoing.
The judge also noted that Kaya is not required to attend the next hearing scheduled for December 7. Klitschko and Panettiere’s legal teams were invited to cooperate.
Klitschko and Panettiere were together from 2009 to 2018 and became engaged in 2013. Following Panettiere’s death, Klitschko filed for temporary guardianship of Kaya’s estate in September, as she is a minor and the sole heir to Panettiere’s estate. The filed documents state that «it is necessary and important for Wladimir to be immediately appointed as temporary guardian of Kaya’s estate in order to be able to file for Hayden’s estate and appoint a proposed administrator of her estate».
Klitschko also submitted documents to the court requesting clarification from law enforcement on why Panettiere’s personal belongings ended up in a pawn shop. He claims that «the pawn shop refused to disclose specific information about the items without law enforcement involvement». Klitschko noted that «no one has been appointed as a personal representative of Hayden’s estate», - and no one has the authority to request law enforcement assistance in investigating the recovery of Panettiere’s property, which could negatively impact Kaya as the sole heir.
