Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky continue to adapt to their new reality almost a year after announcing the end of their relationship to the world. Before celebrating Independence Day in 2023, fans of the «Real Housewives of Beverly Hills» heard the news that the couple was splitting up after 27 years of marriage.
Almost 12 months after the announcement, the couple continues to live separately. While Kyle, 55, and Mauricio, 54, remain friendly and have not filed for divorce.
«I can tell you that I am proud of our marriage. I call it a success», - Mauricio shared with USA Today in March. «Everyone wants to know the reason. We were kids when we met; today we are completely different people than we were then. Sometimes you just drift apart. The reality is that there is no one reason. It’s just life, and life sometimes separates you, and you need to make changes. I wouldn’t trade [our marriage] for anything in the world. It was the best. It was amazing. It was a success. And now it’s time to do something else for now, and we’ll see what tomorrow brings».
In May, the couple’s split became more real when Mauricio moved out of the Los Angeles home he shared with Kyle.
«It was weird», - Kyle admitted in the May 14 episode of the «Bitch Bible» podcast. «I always knew that when this day came, it would feel weird, very real. I’m a mother of four children, I have a busy household».
Despite all the changes, the couple managed to peacefully reunite when it was most important. During his 54th birthday celebration in June, Mauricio marked the occasion with Kyle and their daughters at Catch Steak restaurant in West Hollywood.
«Neither of us has done anything to make us hate each other», - Mauricio previously explained to USA Today. «We still love each other».
However, this love looks a bit different as the summer continues. Filming for the new season of «Real Housewives of Beverly Hills» is ongoing, and Kyle shared on Amazon Live that she expects her ex-husband to participate. «I'm sure he’ll show up, because, you know, he’s obviously family», - she said.
