Singer Keke Wyatt has denied reports that she was arrested on charges of child abuse and threats, as several media outlets have reported. In a statement posted on her Instagram on September 26, it was stated that according to documents from Henry County Court, she has only one charge — simple assault.
This statement contradicts information provided by CBS Atlanta and The Georgia Gazette, which claimed that the 46-year-old Wyatt faced more serious charges, including aggravated assault, threats, and third-degree child abuse. Court records show that Wyatt paid a bond of $ 1,050 for her release from Henry County Jail on September 22.
Wyatt is the mother of 11 children. Her family includes sons Keyver, 26, Rahjah, 24, Ke’Mar, 16, Wyatt, 14, Kendall, 8, Ke’Riah, 6, and Ke’Zyah, 4, as well as daughters Ke’Tarah, 18, and Ke’Yoshi, 11, along with stepdaughter Mickayla and another child whose name has not been disclosed.
