Kelly Giddish announces surprises in season 28 of «Law & Order»

The series «Law & Order: Special Victims Unit» is returning with its 28th season, featuring Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, and Kelly Giddish in the lead roles. In the new season, viewers will see stories based on real events, as well as special surprises related to the 600th episode.

Mariska Hargitay noted that working with such material requires a special approach: «It's very hard — to be immersed in such material day after day, especially when it’s based on real events. That’s why we have a lot of dark humor, laughter, and ways to maintain balance». Kelly Giddish added that the team is excited to return to work: «The season is strong, and we are all just thrilled to be able to dive back into the process».

She also hinted at expected cameos in the 600th episode: «We're doing the 600th episode. I think we will have some good surprises». The new season of the original «Law & Order» will also feature unexpected twists. Dancy noted that the focus will be on crimes and their consequences: «There are just a lot of killers to prosecute». He added that the new season will address existing threats, such as climate change and technology.

The premiere of the new season of «Law & Order: Special Victims Unit» and «Law & Order» will take place today on NBC.
